Our Investment Criteria

Allen Capital Private Equity prefers to invest in mid-market privately owned businesses or non-core subsidiaries/divisions of listed companies. Opportunities to invest in smaller businesses will also be considered, where a platform or build-up strategy is being pursued. Key investment criteria include:

• Businesses with annual revenues ranging between $15 million - $150 million;
• Equity and mezzannine debt requirements for each investment of between $1 million - $5 million. We have the ability to complete larger transactions through co-investment with other strategic and/or financial investors;
• We are receptive to difficult or complex restructuring situations which other investors tend to avoid;
• We seek to have influence over decisions affecting enterprise value through board representation and appropriate shareholder rights; and
• We evaluate exit options before investing our capital. In this regard, we seek to ensure investment horizons and exit objectives of all stakeholders are aligned and appropriately structured.
